Search Begins for Boy Missing 10 Years
Kansas authorities have begun searching for a boy who went missing 10 years ago, but was not reported missing by his family. Adam Herrman was 11 years old when he went missing in 1999. He would be 21 years old now if he is still alive. His family has been listed as "persons of interest" in the case, because they never reported the adopted boy missing.
"We don't know what happened to Adam Herrman past '99, when he was last seen," Butler County Sheriff Craig Murphy said at a news conference. "Is he alive, is he dead? That one I can't answer because we don't know."
Authorities found out about the missing boy after someone called Sedgwick County's Exploited and Missing Children's Unit. They are not saying if they believe that Adam is alive or not.
Thought He Ran Away
Adam had been in foster care before he was adopted by Doug and Valerie Herrman when he was two years old. The couple has not been charged with any crime and their attorney said they have done nothing wrong.
"He was a problem child. He ran away frequently to the point of exasperation," Eisenbise said. "My clients feel very guilty that the last time he left they didn't make an attempt to locate him. Every other time, the police were called or he wandered back. They assumed he found one of his siblings or went back to his biological parents."
Police have searched the mobile home park where the family lived when Adam disappeared and they have searched their present home in Derby, near Wichita. The family computer was seized.

How could the sister not ask more questions I have been keeping up with this story and she said she called a minimum of once a month since she moved out of the house and hadn’t talked to him in 10 years always getting the run around, shouldn’t she have gotten the slightest bit curious after all it took them 8 years to tell her they didn’t want him to know he was adopted? wtf what about child services he was in foster care? Lots of unanswered q’s here, for example trailer park neighbors hello! It is way to fishy to be left alone.
