Man Who Stabbed Wife at Hotel Captured

A man who is suspected of stabbing his wife to death in an Illinois hotel parking lot Saturday was arrested in Indiana Tuesday after several calls to police from citizens who recognized the wanted man. Clarence J. Weber Jr., 58, was arrested while walking unarmed along a street in Crown Point, Indiana.

Earlier, police had found Weber's rental car at a truck stop in Lowell, Indiana, about seven miles south of Crown Point.

Police reports said Adelina Weber, 31, had just left her job waiting tables at a pancake house at a hotel in Lincolnshire when she was attacked in the parking lot. She made it to the lobby of the hotel before she collapsed. She died of her injuries.

Clarence Weber was charged with first-degree murder on Sunday by Illinois authorities and a warrant was issued for his arrest. An extradition hearing is scheduled today.
