A convicted killer recently released from prison has been charged in connection with a killing spree that left six people dead in a Memphis home. Investigators said Jessie L. Dotson killed his brother during an argument and then tried to kill everyone in the house to leave no witnesses.

The 33-year-old Dotson was arrested five days after police found four adults and two children dead in the Memphis home of Cecil Dotson. There were three other children in the house critically wounded, who survived.

"He tried to kill everyone in the house. He thought everyone in the house was dead," police Lt. Joe Scott said. Scott told reporters that Dotson has admitted to the killings.

Surviving Child Identified Killer

Jessie Dotson was charged with six counts of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. Other than his brother, Cecil, 30, also killed were Hollis Seals, 33, Shindri Roberson, 25, and Marissa Rene Williams, 26, the mother of four of Cecil Dotson's children. Cecil Dotson was the father of all the children, ages 9 to 2 months. The two children killed were Cemario Dotson, 4, and Cecil Dotson, 2.

The surviving children remain at a children's hospital, but police declined to reveal their identities or their conditions. One of the children "implicated Jessie Dotson as the person responsible," according to court papers.

A convicted killer recently released from prison; now what is wrong with this picture? CONVICTED KILLER!!!! How did he get out of jail? Some fancy attorney or judge paid off; If he was in prison were he belonged, this family and friends would be alive today. I am outrage that the USA continues to release know killers, drug dealers, and child molesters. We need TOUGHER penalties like put these people to death if it can be proven beyond a shadow of doubt that they committed a violent crime or a crime against children, woman, or the elderly. USA needs to make our streets safer; but the streets are getting worst. Seems as if people continue to kill people. Where I live usually the killings are African-Americans against African-Americans approximately 87%. Instead of helping one another, African-Americans are wiping themselves out. People (all people) don’t you know it is a sin to kill people and your brother, neices and nephews shame on you. Well maybe this time they will keep you in jail or electrocute you for your crime. What ever you were arguing about with your brother, well you have fixed it for good; sealed your brother’s and his family’s fate and your own. Did killing them make you feel better? Did you think you would get away with murder again? Eye witness (child); another day in court at the taxpayer’s expense; this could have been avoided by keeping people in jail that commit crimes. If they do it once they will do it again. WAKE UP AMERICA.

clearly the punishment didn’t fit the crime which is why this punk was released in the first place!!!! however, if we would take time to at least try to reform these men we would fair much better because some can transform their lives however, we don’t care we just put them on the streets and wait for them to come back b/c we are too lazy to at least try – some of these punks don’t know anything else but murder, drugs, and streets – show them something else – i don’t believe is punishment without reform – i know people can be changed and i stand by that but these punks just get out and that is it

I disagree with you regarding killers can be reformed. I have read and study enough written material regarding criminal that have fooled doctor’s, employers and judge’s to know that reforming a killer, rapist, or a child molester is limited number. Once they are on this path the only thing that will stop them is death. Wait unitl it happens to your family, you will change your mind. Unless you are protecting yourself or your family killing someone should not even be an option. Reforming a person that is devil driven and evil is out of the question or they would not do it to start with. I had a rough childhood, but I don’t go around killing people I disagree with. People that are born in the best of society are among the killers, rapists, and child molesters (Theodore Robert Cowell (Ted Bundy) was the dapper, charming monster who confessed to killing 28 women during a 4-year reign of terror and may have killed as many as 100 before he was jailed and executed; John E Dupont Criminal Record:
1988 – Sexual Harassment – Lawsuit filed by Andre Metzger.
Feb. 26, 1997 – Assault – Pointing his gun at a security consultant.
Feb. 26, 1997 – Murder – Shot and killed Olympic wrestler David Schultz.
, etc); history is full of these men and they keep coming. This is what is wrong with the USA today; we are all adults and able to tell right from wrong; but there are some who don’t care about right or wrong. They just care about hurting people; hurting people is their way of life. So you need to rethink REFORMING THEM because they maybe okay for a little while, but sooner or later the MONSTER in them will become unleashed and it could be you or someone you care about.

For Patsy and Cynthia you both have valid points, as an African-American middle aged male. I can attest that it’s extremely difficult to fathom or condone the idea of a life taking another human life and accepting it as a form of human nature. Though studies are conducted in order to help understand the behaviors of these sick individuals, I believe that the downside of studies are the statistics. Sometimes we believe that our scholars have everything under wraps unfortunately, they don’t. It’s true that there is a high rate among African Americans in regard to homicide, my point is what difference does it make we’re still like you human, a life. Even on the outside of a cell does your environment effect you. Thank God I can only imagine the environments that affect or stimulate an already mentally twisted mind. Mind you that prison should not be a luxurious setting for troubled minds. For me, I can only say, that God is able.
