A former South Carolina teacher has been sentenced to serve six years in prison after pleading guilty to having sex with five teenage boys. Allenna Ward, 24, was actually sentenced to 15 years in prison for each lewd act count, but the sentences were suspended to six years.
Ward pleaded guilty in September 2006 to three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and three lewd acts on a minor. She was accused of having sex with 14- and 15-year-old boys at the school where she taught, at a motel, at a park and behind a restaurant.
Some of the boys were students at Bell Street Middle School where Ward was a teacher before she was fired.
A Repressed Childhood
At the sentencing hearing, psychiatrist Donna Schwartz-Watts told the judge that Ward is not a pedophile, but rather a childlike victim suffering from personality disorders and a repressed childhood.
Prosecutors said she violated the trust parents and the community place in those who teach their children. Some of the boys' family members were at the hearing, but none of them spoke.
In June 2007, an elementary student from the same South Carolina county, Wendie Ann Schweikert, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for having sex with an 11-year-old student.

Justice is done. Women who commit statutory rape on teenage boys must get the same punishment as men who commit statutory rape on teenage girls. Hopefully, more sentences such as the 1 given to this woman will be handed down & we’ll have = punishment when it comes to the crime of statutory rape, regardless of whether the perpetrator is a man or a woman.

It is really more wrong for a teacher or a counselor or a policeman or policewoman or anyone in authority to abuse anyone, particularly youth and those with diminished mental capacity and knowledge of what is going on. Even adults can be abused by such people. Let’s pray that the victims get understanding and help.
I’ve never had a son, but if I would have had a son and someone like this woman did what she did to him, I would want her prosecuted to the fullest extent. A parent should be able feel that your child is safe with a teacher. Unbelievable…How did she ever finish college and get a job if she was so childlike? Was she related to someone on the schoolboard? That is how some teachers in my community get hired. We’ve had some real problems here, too.
If it were a man assaulting underage girls, he would have gotten the full 15 years in prison. US society consistently exhibits a pathological resistance towards hold women accountable for their personal destructive behavior.
Lock her up and throw away the key. A few years is not good enough. These ppl need to be put as far away from society and OUR kids as possible. The price that a child pays for having to deal with that is worse than death itself. They grow up with complexes and to maybe do the same to somebody else all because of selfish nasty predators. Our children arent safe any more. Alittle jail time and having to register as a sex offender is not enough. Put them all away forever. Im sick of them.
sex is sex some times nasty some times not but it is a basic human response. 14 15 16 these boys arent damaged they saw an oppurtunity and went for it has it been that long since you were that age give me a break. These guys climbed the mountain,they got the notch in the belt. Its all in fun until somebody gets hurt. oh sure she was wrong but everybody involved is guilty.

If you are offended by this, I gladly hope so, because I was terribly offended by the crap of a message you left. There is nothing innocent about someone older taking advangtage of a CHILD. We, the ADULTS are suppose to protect children and guide them. A teacher is there to TEACH….point blank period. Not seduce young boys or girls.
Well, someone finally woke up. But it is apparent that you have no idea what a pedophile is? Classy response to what everybody wants to hear ,but no where near the truth. The year is 2008 we are lucky to have chidren be children until the age of ten. Maybe the truth is you dont have children or if you do they can very likely be in the same situation
