The toddler the nation came to know as "Baby Grace" after her body washed up in Galveston Bay in a plastic storage bin was tortured and beaten to death by her mother and stepfather, according to court records. The two-year-old, whose real name is Riley Ann Sawyers, was killed by her mother, Kimberly Dawn Trenor, and her husband, Royce Clyde Zeigler II.
Trenor and Zeigler were arrested Saturday after police searched their home in Spring, Texas, near Houston. Apparently, Trenor (pictured in mug shot) is cooperating with the police investigation.
A statement Trenor gave to police reveals the horrifying details of the last days of Riley Ann's life, which ended July 24. The two-year-old was beaten with leather belts, was held underwater in a bathtub, was thrown across the room and had her head slammed into a tile floor.
Trenor and Zeigler (pictured) kept the child's body in a storage shed for more than a month before they placed it into a plastic storage bin and dumped it into Galveston Bay. A fisherman found the plastic bin washed up on an island in Galveston Bay. An autopsy found three skull fractures.
Trenor and Zeigler met about two years ago while playing an online game, World of Warcraft. She moved with her daughter from Ohio to Spring in June 2007 to marry Zeigler.

I believe that this Zeigler was so immature and violent, that he viewed this child as competition and wanted her gone. This should be a caution to women with small children who think that they have to have a man to help raise them. So many times, a child becomes unwanted and in the way of some creep or monster such as this one who doesn’t want to raise another man’s child. The woman is just as guilty because she didn’t protect that child, even if she didn’t lay one finger on her or went along out of fear. Zeigler looks like a mean bully. Trenor is now pregnant with this monster’s child. It should be put up for adoption after it’s born, (or she should have the option of abortion). That poor little baby Grace, she was a doll. I really feel for her grandma and her real dad, who realized that baby Grace could be their grandchild and daughter, and then found it to be the case. Baby Grace, rest in peace, there will be justice for you.

This story has made me sick since I heard about it. These people should be GONE NOW! I have a two year old daughter and cannot imagine anything like this ever happening to her. They should SUFFER, take the time to feel the pain, just like little Riley had to.
People like these are the reason I still believe in the death penalty, and don’t care if it’s considered cruel and unusual by some. No matter what happens to these two, no matter if they’re still conscious and paralyzed when the lethal injection enters their system, it’s never going to compare to the four to six hours of terror, pain and betrayal that little girl felt when she was being tortured and killed by two adults that she loved and trusted. Also, speaking as a mother of two who has been divorced and remarried: any mother who would let a man do this to her child is just as guilty as he is.
This makes me sick. These people should have their reproductive organs removed so they can never have kids.

Please God, in Your infinant wisdom, let these people get the death penalty, and let it be soon. It’s hard to imagine how frightened that baby must have been before she finally died. These two deserve no less!! I hope that female (not Mother)hears that baby cry every time she closes her eyes to sleep. May that baby haunt them for the rest of their miserable lives. And yes, I realize that they have not been convicted yet. And yes, innocent until proven guilty and all that crap. That baby did not have a chance against these two monsters. Give them the same chances. NONE!
There are very few stories that have made such an unbelievable impression on me and this one has haunted me since I heard that it was her mother who was charged. I have 2 little ones and it breaks my heart to think any child would endure such undeniable cruelty. I have seen it reported that the lawyers for both say it was an accident, and I quite honestly hope that they are both public defenders with no choice that they represent such despicable trash as there is no accident in hitting a child repeatedly with a belt, holding her head underwater and picking her up to throw her across the room… manslaughter and second degree murder, I guess were invented to cover the fact that we are humans with animalistic tendancy. Zeigler and Trenor are probably as vicious as I’ve seen.
The one piece of this story that gives me piece is that this beautiful little girl, who I never knew, but I will never forget will not have to endure another day like her last and that it happened in Texas, where convicted killers die and I hope the DA ups the antae so these two monsters can meet in hell.
From what I understand about prisons, these two will receive what they deserve once they are behind bars. One thing prisoners truly hate is persons who hurt children.

These people don’t deserve to be called animals – animals never do such things to their offspring. The two of them really do desrve a slow painful death, preferably through a slow painful poison which hurst like hell. I am a father of two and cannot imagine any human being doing this to a child. This brought tears to my eyes. But then then these two are not really human, they just look like one.
I cannot imagine the terror and fear of Riley Sawyers. My heart aches for what that beautiful little girl had to endure. Before the trials are all over, I hope her murderers will offer some, however misguided, reason as to why they performed a “discipline session” to begin with. What human does that to a small child? A loathsome and despicable evil person is the only answer. That child could NEVER have done anything bad enough to deserve what happened to her.
