A 40-year-old Miami-Dade middle school teacher has been arrested for lewd and lascivious battery on a juvenile in connection with allegations that she had sex with a 14-year-old boy. The boy was a student at Ponce De Leon Middle School where Mariella Brenlla taught.
School officials first began investigating the allegations in February. Brenlla (pictured), 40, was assigned a different job, but at the same school, while the investigation was conducted.
Police said there were multiple sexual encounters between Brenlla and the student.
