Canton policeman Bobby Cutts Jr. and his accomplice Myisha Ferrell both waived their right to a preliminary hearing in the murder case of Jessie Davis and her unborn daughter Chloe. Defense attorneys said waiving the hearings will help ensure a fair trial by keeping evidence from the public for now.

During the hearing for Ferrell, during which her attorney requested that her $500,000 bond be reduced, prosecutors said she may face more charges because she was involved in the disposal of Jessie Davis' body.

Up until that point, all the public knew about Ferrell's involvement was that she had lied to police and was charged with obstruction of justice.

Usually, at a preliminary hearing, prosecutors must show they have enough evidence to charge the defendant with a crime. If the defendant waives his right to the hearing, the case then goes to a grand jury to decide whether or not enough evidence points to a crime. The grand jury proceedings are not public.

Motive: Financial Pressure?

Meanwhile, a motive may be emerging for the murder of Jessie Davis. According to unconfirmed press reports, Bobby Cutts Jr., who made about $40,000 a year as a Canton policeman, was under increasing financial pressure.

Court papers revealed that Cutts was facing foreclosure on his home and he had been ordered by the court to pay child support. Cutts had three children by three different women -- including his wife, a California woman and Jessie Davis' two-year-old son Blake.

Davis' unborn child would have made the fourth child for which Cutts would have become financially responsible.

"Bobby Cutts was at the end of his rope. He had orders to pay child support, plus another kid on the way. He wasn't paying his mortgage. He was living a swinging lifestyle and he earned only about $40,000 a year," an unnamed source told The National Ledger.

I just don’t know what I would do if a woman was openly sleeping with my husband and having babies by him as if they were married. I believe that if this was reversed and the woman who was murdered was black and a white woman was sleeping with her white husband, that black woman would still be laying out there in that park. I don’t believe 1600 people would have showed up to search for her either. “If”, and I say “if”, the FBI got involved, that in itself would have been a miracle.

A correction here, I meant if the white woman was sleeping with the black woman’s Black husband, this would have been looked upon differently. Proof- reading is a must.

Debra- What do you mean you don’t know what you would do? You would give your husband a big fat divorce! The thing is, in this case Jessie probably thought that she was the ONLY woman he was sleeping with. He was seperated from his wife, and on top of that MEN LIE! Who knows what kind of sick twisted manipulation Bobby Cutts was dishing out. Haven’t you ever been in love with someone that you knew wasn’t right for you but you couldn’t stop yourself from being with them! Shame on you for bringing it back to a racial issue. Who do you know in this life who makes perfect decisions!?? NOBODY!!!
