Charles Manson Denied Parole 11 Times

Tuesday May 29, 2007
For the 11th time since 1978 when he first became eligible, cult leader Charles Manson was denied parole by the California Board of Paroles. The board voted to deny Manson parole for five more years, making the convicted killer next eligible for release in 2012.

Manson, now 72 years old, did not bother to attend the parole hearing. He has said in the past that he considers himself a "prisoner of the political system" who will never be released.

"He refused to cooperate, so the conclusion they drew from the reports is he still remains a danger to the public," said Patrick Sequeira, Los Angeles County deputy district attorney. "He was convicted of nine horrible murders. He has expressed no remorse or empathy for any of the victims."

Manson was originally given the death sentence, which was changed in 1977 to life in prison with the possibility of parole, after a 1972 ruling by the California Supreme Court that found the state's death penalty unconstitutional.

Manson was convicted for the August 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders in the Los Angeles area. Although Manson himself did not take part in the murders, he ordered his followers to carry them out to incite a race war that he believed was prophesied in the Beatles song "Helter Skelter."

Manson was also convicted of the murder of musician Gary Hinman and former stuntman Donald "Shorty" Shea at the Spahn movie ranch in Chatsworth, where the Manson Family lived.

again, im just supporting my case to leave him in. he was an evil cult leader who gave the orders for killing them. our government does not suck, our gov. is whats letting you say this dribble and crap in the first place. he or his minians wrote “helter skelter” on his victims walls in blood. the man is sick and twisted. and he still is. he has not changed, he is waiting out the time until he can kill again.

At this point in his life – I really doubt he would make it on his own. I would shift the parole from what he did – to what he could do.

ask your self, did the baby that died ever get a chance? did any of those people that he killed ever get a second chance? at least he still sucks air, thats more than i can say for all those people that died. letting him live is more than he deserves.

This is a man who once looked into a television camera and said, “If I ever get out there’ll be none of you left.” I was only a child when I saw that on the news. I’ve never forgotten his bone-chilling words.

Sharon Tate (RIP) begged for the life of her unborn child. They scoffed at her. As woman, as a sister, as a mother, I hope they him rot behind bars. Frankly, they should have executed him long ago… he AND his so-called “family”.

Prisoner of the political system my foot. He’s a criminal. A sadistic, methodical, self-absorbed murderer who has never repented, never apologized. Age doesn’t change anything. LET HIM ROT.

I don’t understand how this man can still be in prison. It is not a crime to munipulate peoples minds if thats what you want to call it. He never killed anyone and I have never seen anyone else sit in prison for as long as him for having someone killed, which they can’t even prove that he did, its ones words against another. I think he has done more than his time.

i wouldn’t know whether to let him out or not, he hasnt been interviewed in a VERY long time, his views could of changed by now and maybe, just maybe his concious has gotten the better of him and he will be ready to speak out sympathetically and remorsefully about those who he has killed.
- probably not.

i think he should be left in. every other time he got out of prison hes done something to get back in.he cant be trusted. and hes shown that. no one really knows him personally but if i was a judge i would keep his ass in jail.

I Agree with Kasaundra…the guy has been in jail his whole life…if you can even call it a life…he didnt get a fair trial in 1970…he AT LEAST should get a new trial…and i dont think he did anything wrong in the first place…FREE MANSON!!!

(13) Paula says:

You are crazy he should never get out. Whether he is old now or not he could start killing again. With a sick mind like his that will never go away. Also he had led the others to kill and a baby was not allowed to have life because of his sickness!!!!
