Murdered Student Dismembered, Burned on Grill
Houston authorities will not be searching for the dismembered body parts of a 19-year-old Texas A&M student who disappeared March 15, because Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas says, "There are no remaining body parts." Sheriff Thomas said Tynesha Stewart was killed by her ex-boyfriend and her body parts burned on a patio grill.
Investigators say Timothy Wayne Shepherd, 27, confessed to strangling Stewart because he was angry that she had begun a new relationship at college. The two had broken up at the beginning of the school year. Shepherd was charged with murder and is being held on $250,000 bond.
Earlier in the week, Sheriff Thomas drew the anger of Stewart's family and friends when he said authorities would not search for Stewart's body parts, because there was little chance for success. At the time, investigators thought that Shepherd (pictured) has placed Stewart's body parts in a dumpster and had been scattered in local landfills.
The backlash from that announcement caused lawmakers to approved up to $500,000 to fund the search, but the search never started. Further investigation determined that Stewart's dismembered body parts had been burned.
"We have determined through this investigation that the defendant dismembered Tynesha Stewart and . . . he burned the body parts," Harris County Sheriff Tommy Thomas said. "There are no remaining body parts."
Stewart's family understands why there will be no search, Thomas told reporters.

this is one of the sadest stories in Houston in some time. This girl had pulled herself up and got not one, but THREE schoolerships to texas A&M, and graduated in the top 10% of her class.
His behavior in court, and the fact tht he worked at a pizza hut with her gives me the idea that he has priors and that he deserves nothing but life with out parole.
