Three Charged in Georgia Boy's Death
Three members of a Georgia family have been charged with murder in connection with the death of six-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios, whose body was found in a garbage bag in a ditch by the road a week after he disappeared. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against convicted sex offender George David Edenfield and his parents, David and Peggy Edenfield.
All three members of the family were indicted for murder and child molestation. According to the Glynn County Grand Jury indictment, George Edenfield and his father both sodomized the boy and forced him to perform oral sex while Peggy Edenfield watched and masturbated.
The indictment said Christopher died from asphyxiation the day he was reported missing, March 8. The family members are also charged with false imprisonment, cruelty to children and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
"This is one of the most horrific crimes that I have seen in 21 years of prosecutions," District Attorney Stephen D. Kelley told reporters.
Donald Dale, a friend of the Edenfields, was indicted on charges of concealing a death and tampering with evidence. Investigators said Dale did not become involved in the crime until after Christopher was dead. He told authorities that he helped them dispose of the body.
"They deserve the worst, for them to torture my son like that, every last one of them," said Christopher's father, Mike Barrios.

Reading this story made me physically sick as a parent of a child the same age I can only imagine the pain the parents must be going through, I cannot imagine what would possess anyone to look at a little child and want to do those things to him and not feel anything for his pain they deserve the same fate that he suffered…
That is truly one of the most sickening stories I’ve heard before. I’m a father of a three year old baby boy and everytime I hear about children being harmed so violently, I feel it in my heart. These type of people deserve to be seperated from other criminals when it comes to punishment. Death is not enough, there has been too many kids harmed, tortured or killed by sick and twisted individuals in this world for us not to take action. Why do we have to pay for a report on sexual predators in our community? Why can’t it be given or mailed to everybody as a bulletin or report? I was sickened all day after reading what they did to that child. He must have been in awful pain and it did nothing to them to watch him suffer. I am the mother of three sons and I can not- CAN NOT- imagine this. I feel so much for the parents. I have no words. These people will get what they deserve in prison- prisoners wait on these people to come in- they do not deal lightly with child killers. May they
suffer for the rest of their days and then burn in hell. When those other prisoners get finished with them I hope they feel 10 times the pain they afflicted that child with.
I can’t get this kid out of my head, I have small kids and just knowing that could have been one of my own haunts me I want more than justice for him, I am searching for what happened in the case. I need closure in knowing that those monsters will get what they deserve
