Did Wisconsin serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer kill Adam Walsh, son of "America's Most Wanted" host John Walsh in 1981? New speculation linking Dahmer to the kidnapping and murder of Adam has surfaced in the media recently, but John Walsh says he has seen no new evidence linking Dahmer to his son's death.

The speculation linking Milwaukee's most famous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to Adam Walsh's murder were printed in a Miami publication, the Daily Business Review, by writer Arthur Jay Harris, an author of true crime books. Harris has written an unpublished book on the Adam Walsh case.

The main points Harris makes linking Dahmer to the Walsh case, using files from the official investigation, include:

  • Dahmer was in the Miami area at the time Adam disappeared, working at a sandwich restaurant.

  • After Dahmer was arrested in Milwaukee, witnesses said they saw him in the Hollywood, Florida, mall around the time Adam was abducted.

  • Dahmer had access to a blue van at work. Several witnesses reported seeing a blue van speeding away from the mall the day Adam disappeared.

Two weeks after Adam Walsh disappeared, fishermen found his head in a canal near Vero Beach, 100 miles from Hollywood. His body was never found.

Dahmer Denied Walsh Murder

After Dahmer was arrested in Milwaukee and charged with multiple murders of young men, he was questioned by FBI investigators about the Adam Walsh case. Dahmer, who was forthcoming and confessed to many other murders and mutilations, denied he had anything to do with the Walsh case and claimed he had never been to the Hollywood area.

Harris, who is trying to sell his book to a publisher, insists the link should be pursued by investigators. "I'm not way off on this," Harris told reporters. "This is something that needs to be investigated."

Meanwhile, John Walsh still believes Adam was killed by another serial killer, Ottis Toole, who confessed to the murder on his deathbed. Although DNA evidence that might have linked Poole to Adam was lost by police, clothing similar to Adam's was found in Poole's home.

i found these speculations very interesting, and they should be investigated.
And one correction, the surname of the serial killer is not Poole, but Toole.

I recently looked into the Adam Walsh case. There are some things I noticed, and there are things I understand. The person who killed Adam Walsh was a cannibal. His head was decapitated and his body was never found. When people prepare a deer, rabbit, or squirrel to be cleaned for eating the heads are always removed because it is useless unless you want to mount a deer head on your wall. I do not believe Adam’s body was buried. I believe his body was a victim of cannibalism in the Vero Beach area not far from where his head was located. Adam’s killer was never concerned with hiding the fact Adam was dead, that is why he threw the head in the canal instead of burying or better hiding his head. The killer didn’t care about authorities identifying the head, he wanted the body. Having said that, I do not believe it is possible for someone to eat Adam’s bones. His bones are probably less than 10 miles from where his head was found in the Vero beach area, and his bones are most likely buried right next to someone’s house. Adam’s head was removed close to the area where this killer planned on further mutilating the body. You see…. the head was removed at the permanent location where Adam’s body was to be further mutilated for cannibal consumption. There are cleaner ways to kill a person out in public if they are noisy or panicking. Cutting someone’s head off is too extreme and bloody to do on the move simply to keep a 6 year old child quiet as Toole stated he did. There are much easier and cleaner ways to kill a 6 year old who is not co-operating.Toole was lying about why he supposedly decapitated Adam. There is a connection that was overlooked somewhere. Somewhere between the Sears department store and the security guard female that made Adam leave Sears, and the fellow named Toole that was the prime ’suspect in the case. The killer could have known Adam and his parents and the killer could have monitored the Walsh’s from a distance looking for a window of opportunity, especially if the Walsh’s frequented the Sears where Adam was abducted. There is another aspect to Adam’s murder…his head was dumped in the Vero Beach area because that is where his killer may have lived, or Toole may have given Adam’s body to someone who lived in the Vero area. Again, the location of the killer’s home is going to depend on access to the canal and the direction of the canal’s current where Adam’s head was found. If you can get me complete case files, times, dates, ect….everything you can on the case I can figure out the missing link. I need to know exactly what canal Adam’s head was found in, and the direction of the current in that canal. I need the complete confession descriptions from Toole. There is someone else out there that contributed to Adam’s death, I know for a fact. Give this message to John Walsh. If I am given the case files and resources I can find the truth, unless Mr. Walsh is satisfied with having closure in the case with Toole as the murderer.

Why did the female security guard make Adam leave Sears? Why was he alone? What time was it? Maybe the security guard had something to do with it. I find it very odd that the security guard made Adam leave even after noticing that he was alone. Why didn’t she offer help? Very strange behavior from a guard. I do not believe that Dahmer had anything to do with Adam’s death because he admitted to all of his other crimes. What makes this one so different? Why wouldn’t he admit to this one? No need to admit because he didn’t do it.

So could u figure out all of the unsolved cases if you just had the files? There are tons of people that work on these cases and do this for a living..if they couldnt do it how do you expect to be able to? Dont be dumb!

And no, dahmer doesnt fit the profile because he kept the skulls as trophies, and bleached them.

You don’t think Jeffrey Dahmer would’ve had the heart to kill Adam Walsh?

He didn’t discriminate between adults and children. There was no moral compass in him that would enable him to discriminate due to the age of his victim.

It was very convenient for John Walsh to go along with the closure of the his son’s kidnapping and murdering merely because some police officials in Florida were convinced that it would be better to pin that horrible crime on a dead man instead of pursuing the diabolical force behind so many children in America regardless of their colors.

Let us not forget the Scorpion’s warning to John Walsh that He was his worst nightmare. Why? Did Zodiac chnaged its pen name back in 1990 to Scorpion to cryptically claim responsibility for Adam’s demise?

Let us not forget that Adam mysteriously disappeared on July 27, 1981, which magically coincided with the 21st anniversary of the Korean War’s Armistice. Adam’s head was recovered near a body of water on August 10, 1981, which magically coincided with Robert DeGrimston’s 46th birthday.

The cryptic numeric clue of 46 and 21 can be simultaneous solved as: Liber 21, which can be equalized as Liber 7 7 7.

If not for Police, then let this be a head star for John Walsh if he really wants to find the truth about the death of his son.

(11) bababijan says:

It was very convenient for John Walsh to go along with the official decision to close the unsolved case of the kidnapping and murder of his son, Adam, because some police officials in Florida were convinced that they would be far better off to pin such a horrible crime on a dead con man, Ottis Toole, instead of pursuing the diabolical force behind the kidnappings and murders of so many children in America regardless of their colors.

Let us not forget the Scorpion’s warning for John Walsh that he was his worst nightmare. Why? Did Zodiac change his pen name back in 1990 to Scorpion to cryptically claim responsibility for Adam’s demise? Why did John Walsh remain mum for so many years before partially releasing the Scorpion files for the public?

Several months after the Zodiac’s “Forced Bussing” letter of March 1, 1981, Adam mysteriously disappeared on July 27, 1981. Adam was born on November 14, 1974. Using July 27, 1974, as a clocking event, then this date was magically clocked to coincide with the 21st anniversary of the Korean war’s armistice in 1953. It is important to remember that 1974 was a busy year for Zodiac.

Adam’s head was recovered near a body of water in Florida on August 10, 1981, which magically coincided with the 46th birthday of Robert DeGrimston, who was born on August 10, 1935, in Shanghai, China, which was a signatory party to the 1953 armistice.

The disappearance date of July 27, 1981, also magically coincided with the 28th anniversary, or ash anniversary, of the Korean war’s armistice in 1953.

On May 27, 2009, North Korea unilaterally decided to withdraw from the 1953 armistice, which South Korea refused to be a signatory party to it despite of promising to observe the terms of ceasefire. As per Zodiac’s warning of doom, “Ash America,” is North Korea getting ready to ash America with a lot of help from the cuckoo-clock Nazi Islamic zombies of doom in Iran? Let the rigged re-election of the Nazi puppet president of Iran be a warning to the whole world that the mankind as we know it now is in danger of extinction if Zodiac Network is not fully exposed and ultimately curtailed.

The cryptic numeric clues of 46 and 21 can be simultaneously cracked as: Liber 21, which can be equalized as: Liber (7 + 7 + 7), or Liber 777, which was Aleister Crowley’s blueprint for murder & mayhem (M & M).

The cryptic alphabetic clue of “water” can be numeralized as: 67, which can be equalized as: (46 + 7 + 7 + 7), which can be written as: 46 777, which can be cracked as: Liber 777.

If not for the police, then let us hope that this info can be used as a head start by John Walsh if he really wants to find out the truth about the death of his son. He owes him that more than any other person in America.

In my opinion, Zodiac Network must be listed on the top of John Walsh’s America’s Most Wanted list for the whole world to see. Anything less will be unacceptable.

There is no evidence at all that Ottis Toole killed anyone but a man when he committed arson. Even the people he was accused of killing were women. Jeffrey Dahmer decapitated victims, lied about not having access to a car when he was in Miami Beach, and raped and once drugged a 13-year old boy who looked younger. The evidence suggests that Jeffrey Dahmer killed Adam Walsh. Even witnesses place him at the scene.

wow dahmer was convicted of murder… too bad none of you can be convicted of being incompetent, pretty sure that’d be a few life sentences for most of you. dumb people make me mad. i felt my I.Q. drop like 17 points just reading those comments! Toole killed Walsh. Dahmer kept his victims, took pictures of them. Did any of the police find pictures of Walsh in Dahmers apartment? if so they just never turned it in to evidence and the’re what? keeping these pictures as some kind of sick trophy for catching Dahmer the way Dahmer kept “trophys” of his victims? DOUBT IT!!! come on there is no evidence linking Dahmer to Adam Walsh! dont you people have anything better to do than sit around an make stupid speculations on what didnt happen? Oh and by the way, no you could not solve Adams murder is you had the case files or the confession. I get an odd feeling that you want these files to publish some kind of psychotic book about your idiotic suspicions! Way to use a little boys murder for personal gain!!! What happened to the Walsh family is a terrible tragedy, no family should ever have to deal with that. If they choose to accept closure with Tooles confession leave them be. Dont try and drag this pain back into their lives. in short shut up!!!

You are very incompetent and you have a very big mouth. Of course no one wants to bring pain back in to the lives of the Walsh family. You don’t know Jay. How do you know if he may or may not be able to find the truth? Did you have coffee with him or something? Did he explain his way of think in detail to you or something? It doesn’t sound like it so maybe you are the one who needs to shut up.

Jeffrey Dahmer did not keep his early victims. He did not have his own place at the time.
He did NOT keep all the heads.
He did NOT admit to all his earlier murders.

He killed someone in 1978 in his grandma house and could not keep that poor guy.

Jeffrey Dahmer did not admit to killing Adam because he was such a freaking sicko that he thought he could admit to killing all the “gay” guys who willing went with Dahmer and that the police and his family (who already knew he had an abnormal sexual appetite) could somehow shift part of the blame to the unknowing gay victims who went with Dahmer.
Dahmer’s victims of choice to kill and dismember MAY HAVE BEEN children\boys but he had no access to them in which he could do what he was doing and the children not be missed. His victims of convenience were gay men with little or loose family ties who were out nights and could not be traced to him.

Dahmer did not have the guts to admit to his earlier victims like Adam who was a child and not gay and did not willingly put himself into Dahmer;s hands. I think that is Dahmers warped thinking and in a way it makes sense.
Dahmer admitted to killing a hitchhiker 3 years earlier and kept nothing (again he could blame the hitchhiker for coming home with him, and also never traced to him)

Many people it is hard to admit, do think, it is terrible he killed all those gay men….. but they would think even worse of him for killing Adam.

and I think common sense says he did kill Adam or there would have been a lot more Adam like deaths.

Again, Dahmer DID NOT keep all his victims and he kept NONE of his early victims.

Dahmer lived a twenty minute drive from where Adam Walsh was kidnapped. We don’t know where Ottis lived at the time. When he did live in Florida, it was miles away.

Dahmer is known for decapitation. Ottis Toole made numerous false confessions.

Dahmer did not want to admit he killed a child. His father was judgmental, and Dahmer, in his demented mind, believed his father could accept he was a serial killer only if he did not kill children. Also, in his demented mind, Jeffrey Dahmer could rationalize to himself the murders of many of his victims. He could say they participated as some level of the game. He could not rationalize the murder of a child in his mind. We also do not know of Dahmer killed other children as he gradually developed his modus operandi.

There are no reasons at all to suspect Ottis Toole.

There are a number of reasons to suspect Jeffrey Dahmer.

Dahmer never would confess to the Walsh murder because Florida is a death penalty state and Wisconsin is not. Had he admitted to it he would have been tried and promptly placed on Death Row and sat in old sparky. He must have saw how they handled Arthur Goode down there.

I think all these comments are retarded. Jeffery Dahmer admited to everyone that he killed, so if he killed this little boy, why wouldn’t be admit to that too? Ottis Toole admited ON HIS DEATH BED that he killed Adam Walsh, which may have actually happened.. but noone will ever know now. The Walsh Family could read these obsurd comments at anytime, and it could bring back the hurt they felt the day there son was found. I think everyone should stop with the bullsh*t and leave all this where its at. Like honestly people, would you like people recapping the story if this happened to you? Cuz I know damn well I wouldnt.Jeffery Dahmer is no longer with us, nor is Ottis Toole.. I know they were sick but this should really be left alone. They are laid to rest now.. im not picking up for them or have any sympothy for them what so ever but this is retarded.

I love you internet conspiracy theorists. The zodiac killer angle was probably the funniest and best one. I’ll be as straight forward as possible about this, if you want something to connect and you look hard enough it will. I could sit in my house and link Adam Walsh’s murder to anyone in his vicinity at the time of his disappearance. The difference between my analysis of the crime, and the people who actually investigated the crime, is that mine is based on conjecture and not facts.

I work as a private investigator, investigating shrink and employee fraud. Yes, I know I’m not a murder investigator, but that doesn’t change the fact that when investigating anything you never ever create scenarios. These scenarios will always lead you in the wrong direction. What you do is you follow the facts, and hope to find a pattern or profile.

If anyone has ever played the game called ’six degrees of separation’ they will know what I’m talking about. If you look hard enough you will make connections however wrong they may be. This is what makes an investigators job so difficult. The most likely conclusion can often be the wrong decision.
