A Colorado teacher who was out on $20,000 on charges of having
sexual contact with one of her 17-year-old students, is not behind bars
facing felony charges for contacting her victim last week. Prosecutors said
Carrie McCandless attempted to contact the teen last week, which is against
the conditions of her bond.
McCandless, 30, turned herself into Larimer County authorities on the second arrest warrant. She is being held without bond and no hearing is currently scheduled to set a bond.
McCandless was an English teacher at Brighton Charter High School and wife of the school's principal, when she was arrested in November for sexual assault on a student during a school sponsored camping trip.
McCandless was apparently working out a plea deal with prosecutors when the second arrest warrant was issued. Her attorney insist that his client did not try to contact the teen and the call he received may have been a prank.
