Two Missing Missouri Boys Found
The investigation into the disappearance of a 13-year-old Missouri boy who was last seen four days ago after getting off the school bus, has resulted in the discovery of another boy who disappeared more than four years ago. Ben Ownby, 13, and Shawn Hornbeck, 15, were both found unharmed in an apartment near St. Louis.
Police serving an arrest warrant in an apartment complex for another person, spotted a white pickup truck that matched the description of one being sought in the disappearance of Ben Ownby, who was last seen near his home in Beaufort, Missouri, about 60 miles southwest of St. Louis.
When police served a search warrant on the apartment of the person listed as the owner of the pickup truck, they found Ownby along with Shawn Hornbeck, who disappeared in October 2002 while riding his bike in Richwoods, Missouri, about 50 miles southwest of St. Louis.
Pizzaman Arrested
Arrested was Michael J. Devlin (pictured in mug shot), 41, who has been charged with one count of first-degree kidnapping. Devlin is a manager of a pizza restaurant in downtown Kirkwood, Missouri and had no previous criminal record, police said.
The two boys were examined at a local hospital and reunited with their families while celebrations broke out in Beaufort and Richwoods and throughout the region.
"Not too many people will be able to sleep tonight," said Dawn Downey, the best friend of Shawn Hornbeck's mother Pam Akers.
