Natalee Holloway's Mom Sued for Divorce
George "Jug" Twitty has filed divorce papers in Alabama two weeks after he separated from Beth Twitty, mother of Natalee Holloway who disappeared in Aruba in May 2005. The couple married July 26, 2000, it was the second marriage for both.
In the divorce papers, Jug Twitty said the couple had separated Dec. 15 and they have "such a complete incompatibility of temperament that the parties can no longer live together." He would make no further comment when asked by reporters.
The Twittys became known internationally as they appeared together on television broadcasts in the early days of the investigation of Natalee's disappearance while on a graduation trip to Caribbean island.
Jug returned to Alabama several months before Beth Twitty left Aruba. She later founded the International Safe Travels Foundation and now travels extensively to speak to high school students and teachers.
Beth is also listed with the Nashville Speakers Bureau as a motivational speaker, available for a fee.
