Serial Killer Strikes in Atlantic City

Monday November 27, 2006
Authorities believe a serial killer is targeting Atlantic City prostitutes after they found the bodies of four women in a drainage ditch behind a row of lower-rent hotels in Egg Harbor, New Jersey but near the city's casinos. Police have identified two of the victims, but are asking for the public's help in identifying the remaining two women.

Police released the photos of two tattoos (pictured) found on one of the women, who was about five feet tall and weighed 160 pounds. One tattoo was a red-and-black bulldog and the other a Playboy bunny logo inside a heart. She also had a faded tattoo that read "Yolly," "Volly" or "Molly."

The other unidentified woman was in her 30s, about 5-foot-7, and weighed 145 pounds. She wore Capri blue jeans and a brown, long-sleeved, and a zippered jacket, police said.

Police have identified the other two women. Kim Raffo, 35, a mother of two from Florida and Tracy Ann Roberts, 23, who authorities said was from "out of state." Both Raffo and Roberts had arrest records for prostitution.

Similarities in the Victims

The four women, all with blonde hair color, were discovered face down in a few inches of water, facing east, and were all clothed except they were barefoot. Their bodies were found within 320 feet of each other in a ditch behind an area known for drugs and prostitution.

One of the victims had been in the water for up to a month, while another was there only a few days, autopsy reports revealed.

"Identifying all the victims is crucial to the investigation of these homicides. We are asking anyone who may recognize either of these tattoos to contact the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office," Prosecutor Jeffrey S. Blitz said.
