Ron Goldman's Family Still Seeking Justice
The family of Ron Goldman, who was murdered at the same time as Nicole Brown Simpson, is still trying to bring O.J. Simpson to justice 12 years after the 1994 double murder. This week Fred Goldman filed a lawsuit for rights to control former football star Simpson's likeness and image.
O.J. Simpson was acquitted in 1995 by a criminal jury for the murders of Ron Goldman and his wife, Nicole (pictured). In a 1997 civil trial, a jury found Simpson liable in the wrongful death case and awarded the Goldmans $33.5 million in damages.
However, the Goldmans have received very little of the money. Their new lawsuit claims that Simpson makes appearances and trade shows and exhibitions for which he is paid thousands of dollars. They want the court to give them control of those appearances, suing for the rights to his "publicity, name and person."
"He found a way to be a free man through his fame," Fred Goldman said at a press conference. "It is now our opportunity to take that fame from him."
O.J. Simpson's attorney told reporters that the former college and NFL star makes only a few thousand dollars from autograph-signing appearances. "It's not a question of intentionally trying to avoid anything," Yale Galanter said. "O.J.'s life is very simply an open book. There is no money."

Let Nicole and Ron rest in peace!!!! I’m sympathetic to the family for their lost, but give me a freaking break. These people are trying profit from their children’s death. I understand that they feel that justice wasn’t served, but to use the deaths as a means to become millionaires makes me sick to my stomach. It’s outrageous, and I hope that no judge would allow these money-grubbers to have control of OJ’s name and likeness. It’s not like OJ is still working, playing football, signing million dollar contracts. This man only has his pension to live off. What is he, like 70 or so. As long as these people are out here trying to get rich off of Nicole and Ron, their souls will never truly rest in peace. They need to stop trying to take justice in their own hands, and let GOD seek justice.
I am sure the Goldman’s don’t need the money. It is the court that found OJ guilty in a civil suit not the Goldman’s. They are trying to up hold the courts ruling(as they should)I am sure OJ is not living in proverty he had good lawyers in his defence and if they directed him right,all the money he had he is living on. If it is true O.J.simpson is writing a book,telling how he killed Nicole,and Ron Goldman,every penny should go to the family of Nicole Simpson and the family of Ron Goldman.How this is not going to happen ,if the publisher is really releasing this book,is unforgivable…This man is a murder,and I thought a law was passed murderes can not recieve profits on tell all books..This book should be banned.

I’m outraged! As if this last attempt at grabbing at straws isn’t degrading enough to human life, O.J.’s own attorney has the audacity to claim when confronted about why restitution has not fully been made, “it’s not a question of intentionally trying to avoid anything… There is no money.” Yet there seems to be plenty to pay the attorney, the college tuition for his children, the maintenance and utilities and insurance for his home and automobiles, and so on. It is reported that he receives near $400,000 per year from the NFL. I’m not an accountant but it has been a well known proven fact that people have survived on less. How does he justify it? It’s not a matter of the victim’s families benefitting from Nicole’s and Ron’s deaths, but a matter of Mr. Simpson not benefitting from it. I say give the Brown’s and the Goldman’s all the rights they desire to control the former star’s likeness and image. The moment this happens will be the moment this monster stops trying to benefit from the deaths of two people. There will be no more interviews or book deals and he will fade away into the darkness. Just one word of advice… don’t let a jury decide on the outcome of this lawsuit!
Fred Goldman should make a lot of money off this book. His dead son has been the best thing that could have happen to the Goldmans. This book should make them rich.

A few days after he was cleared of Murdering Nicole & Ron I was in Aruba. The cab driver told me that Johnny Cochran had just been there. That might be a good place for the Goldman’s to check out for accounts.

I had a brother killed 26 years ago…my family could have sued the man that done it(a drunk driver) but they had enough dignity and grace and faith in God to leave it there…God is our judge and that man will have to answer to him, just as O.J. will…come on guys, give it a break and let your son rest in piece. This isn’t about $$$$$. It’s about JUSTICE, which OJ continues to flaunt and defy. The admission yesterday on Dr Phil that OJ was told NOT to take his arthritis medicine so that his hands would be swollen and not fit the glove was horrendous. It’s hard to believe that an officer of the LAW would do a thing like that. I urge the Goldmans to pursue whatever they can to finally give OJ what he deserves - death.

Detective William Dear has asked that the LAPD reopen the investigation. He says that the double murder may have been done by Jason Lamar Simpson, OJ Simpson’s son. Jason Lamar Simpson. Is OJ Simpson taking the blame for what his son may have done? I think that the book If I did it was to shift the focus to him, rather than his son, who if convicted would either go to prison or spend the rest of his life in a mental asylum?
Jason Lamar Simpson has in the past been confined to a mental asylum for Intermittent Rage Syndrome, has had drug problems & past convictions for battery. In the past, OJ Simpson reportedly said that he was disappointed that he couldn’t help his son. No, it doesn’t prove Jason Lamar Simpson did it, but whether or not he did it, here are 2 possibilities that I now believe happened. Whoever did it, the fact remains that OJ Simpson is innocent.
1. On that night, Jason Lamar Simpson who was a chef @ the restaurant Jacson’s was supposed to cook a special meal for his stepmom Nicole & his dad. OJ Simpson had to go to a business meeting & called his son to inform him that he wouldn’t be able to go there. Nicole Brown Simpson on the other hand was rude & didn’t call him. Instead Nicole Brown Simpson went to the Mezalluna & afterwards was going to go with Ron Lyle Goldman (who I have said was either a drug dealer or courier) to a drug party. Jason Lamar Simpson being insulted by the fact that Nicole didn’t come left work to see what happened. Seeing Ron Lyle Goldman & knowing for reasons already stated that Ron Lyle Goldman was either a drug dealer or courier, had a heated quarrel with him where he lost it & a double murder happened. Nicole Brown Simpson was killed trying to stop it. After this happened, Jason Lamar Simpson calls OJ Simpson to tell him that he is in trouble. OJ Simpson comes there & seeing what has happened, asks his son to give him the bloody clothes & incriminating proof. OJ Simpson puts it in a duffel bag & disposes it. If this happened, then OJ Simpson did commit obstruction of justice, however, OJ Simpson is innocent of the murder.
2. Nicole Brown Simpson & Ron Lyle Goldman are killed by rival drug sellers. Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran did NOT say that OJ Simpson did it. He initially said that the murder could have happened in a matter of few minutes & that 1 weapon could’ve been used. But Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran also said that the murder could have been done by more than 1 killer & that more than 1 weapon could’ve been used. He also initially said that the initial coroner Dr. Irwin Golden made over 30 mistakes but that they were of minor detail, however later he said that the coroner did not do a good job. He said that Dr. Irwin Golden didn’t test the food contents which would have established the time that Nicole Brown Simpson was killed. Dr. Henry Lee testified that there was something wrong with the proof. If this murder was committed by rival drug sellers, then Jason Lamar Simpson arrived after the double murder was committed. Panicked & seeing the horror of this, Jason Lamar Simpson called OJ Simpson. He comes & thinking that the cops will blame his son because of his son’s past, OJ Simpson asks Jason Lamar Simpson for the bloody clothes, which he puts in a duffel bag & disposes.
OJ Simpson did cooperate with the police. He voluntarily submitted his hair & blood sample. He initially retained a lawyer to represent his son Jason Lamar Simpson. OJ Simpson must have thought that the cops would blame his son. It can be speculated that OJ Simpson may have told his mother & father in law, Juditha & Louis Brown what happened that night perhaps in a family conversation, because OJ Simpson continued to see both of them many years after the double murder. Perhaps Juditha & Louis Brown comprehend that Nicole Brown Simpson would not have wanted her stepson to go to prison & since they regard Jason Lamar Simpson as their grandson, they don’t want him to go to prison, if indeed he did it. OJ Simpson lost a daughter in 1979 who drowned in a pool & he’s not going to lose a son.
Denise Brown won’t comprehend. Fred & Kim Goldman won’t comprehend. Yes, it’s horrible for Ron Lyle Goldman to have been killed, but Ron Lyle Goldman took the risks when he got involved with drug sellers. If you’re a drug seller or a courier, there’s a risk that you’re going to be killed by either rival drug sellers or people who aren’t happy that you’re consorting with their family.
If Jason Lamar Simpson did it, then it’s 2d Degree Murder, as a result of provocation by Ron Goldman. It doesn’t excuse it, but it puts comprehension because as noted, Ron Goldman was either a drug seller or courier. It’s my belief that Ron Goldman & not Nicole Brown Simpson was the intended target. Det. William Dear has said that this can’t be ruled out. I didn’t believe the prosecution’s theory of why it happened. He caught his ex-wife having sex with another man on the sofa 2 years earlier but didn’t kill them over it. If a man is going to kill his wife because she is having an affair, he is far more likely to pull the trigger @ that minute as a result of provocation & not stab her & a friend to death 2 years later after they’ve been divorced.
But Fred & Kim Goldman should be upfront & admit that it’s about the money. They can say it’s about paying off a lawsuit, but it’s really about enrichment. Also for all of you that believe OJ Simpson did it, it must be noted that innocents have sometimes been convicted & based on information provided I now believe that OJ Simpson is innocent. Also are the 2 Ron Goldman & Nicole Brown Simpson really sympathetic victims, esp. Ron Goldman?
Did any of you know Nicole Brown Simpson & Ron Goldman personally? Given that Ron Goldman was @least involved with drug dealers (some of Ron Goldman’s friends were drug dealers), are we to be empathetic to the fact that he got killed, either by an angry family member who didn’t want him hanging around his family or by rival drug sellers? No, there’s no excuse to kill any1 besides self-defense, but people can commit murder if given the circumstances.

The reason that I believe Ron Lyle Goldman was either a drug seller or courier is because he had financial problems living in California. Ron Lyle Goldman wanted to continue having the money to keep up with his opulent living, so to do this, he was involved with drug dealers & the mob. Could the double murder have been committed by the mob? Ron Lyle Goldman had a drug dealing friend who was killed the same way he was killed. The police have not properly investigated Ron Lyle Goldman’s involvement with drug dealers to determine if some1 else committed the double murder.
Since money is mentioned, Detective Mark Fuhrman wrote a book & made millions. Now it’s Det. Fuhrman right, but again, @least call it for what it is. Det. Fuhrman was a policeman & for him to profit from this double murder defeats the whole idea of what public service is. For instance it’s morally wrong (most places forbid it) for cops to accept rewards for arresting & sending criminals to prison. What Detective Fuhrman did isn’t much different only that he is profiting after the fact & earning alot more money.
Detective Mark Fuhrman will say that he was right & others were wrong. The prosecutors Marcia Clark & Chris Darden also wrote books & made millions, stating that they’re right & others were wrong. The fact that they would profit & enrich themselves must raise ?s about their motives, because as noted it defeats the idea of why they became public servants.
I do not see it as the victims families trying to profit from their family memebers death, I see it as trying to get some sort of justice because the jury system failed them even though there was overwhelming evidence that O.J. Simpson murdered Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. In my opinion anyone with common sense could come to that conclusion. His defense team used race and the distrust that the black community had for law enforcement to get a double murderer off. It was a great miscarriage of justice. I believe that Nicole and Ron would want him to pay for cutting their lives short because of his rage and jealousy.
TONIGHT some long over due justice has come. Thank God the jury in Las Vegas found OJ Simpson guilty on all charges regarding the robbery.

That’s American justice broken and incorrect fortunately prosecutors are living on borrowed time because there will be a snap that will cause prosecutors to start becoming targets.
I’m a firm believer that if someone is put to death or serves long time in jail because of ignorance by someone like the DA, or judge, then they should in turn serve or recieve the same death sentence as a deterent.

No, Alice, I am not an accesory after the fact. No, I’m not a lawyer. It’s predictable that when you can’t think of anything, you give a reply like this which involves ad homenims.
But to the point, why the empathy for Ron Goldman & Nicole Brown Simpson? They both were involved with the mob. Ron Lyle Goldman had financial problems & wanted to continue having the opulent life in California. For this reason he got involved the underworld, to keep having the money to do so & as noted, the Mezzaluna restaurant he worked @ was run by the mob & some of his friends were drug sellers. Ron Lyle Goldman must have thought that because he was a martial arts expert, he could deal with them, but overlooked that in the mob, there’s almost always a better fighter.
Nicole Brown Simpson similarly wanted to continue the opulent life, driving fancy cars-her Ferrari & Porsche & she wanted to continue living in her Brentwood mansion. It’s a fact that both were involved with the mob, to get the money to keep living the good life.
But as asked, if you involve yourself with the mob, are we to be sympathetic if you get killed by either the mob or some1 not happy that you’re consorting with them? Gangsters regularly kill other gangsters in gang wars-the Crips & the Bloods. Yet most people would say that while it’s bad that they got killed, that they assumed the risks when they got involved with gangs.
I don’t see Ron Lyle Goldman & Nicole Brown Simpson as empathetic victims, because they too assumed the risks when they got involved with the mob.

I think that Fred Goldman should read it himself and answer why 5 of Ron’s Friends have died or disappeared and why Ron’s old boss was murdered almost a year to the day prior to the terrible murder of Ron and Ms. Simpson.
This is a very interesting book taken from both sides of the story and also independant tests. Everyone that I have let read this book has come to a different conclusion than when they went in.
The sad thing is that it is all about race - Black man with a white woman and the hatred behind it.

Thank you Tony for having a head on your shoulder. I too saw that Ron Goldman’s best friend was killed the same way Ron was. That information was quashed. It was only mentioned once in the news. The OJ trial was never about the murders, it was about the framing the police department did OJ. Police threw OJs shoes in the squad car unprotected, blood splashed throughout the Bronco two weeks after the murders, blood on two sides of a sock tossed in the middle of a floor of an immaculate room at OJs house, one bloody glove found over OJs fence. I have five kids and at some point all have lost their gloves in the snow, and I have never seen one shrunk when found. The jury was sequestered so they only heard the info that was presented in court–no media hype. So with the only info they were given, OJ was not guilty. the news media help proved OJs innocents because they filmed the actions of the police. Little did they know they were helping the defense. OJ in jail now! The Goldman’s are happy now, but they are a pathetic family. Mr. Goldman why don’t you tell the truth for once. Why are you shedding the same tears more than 10 years after your son died. The bible says that Jesus heals the brokenhearted. I think they are liars and phonies. Now if I can reason that OJ was framed, why can’t the Goldmans? Maybe they don’t want to because it would prove that they were wrong in their assessment of OJ. I have no love for OJ. On race: African-Americans cheered for the verdict of OJ back in the ’90s because they saw how the media and white people made a spectacle of the trial. It was like a public hanging. They understood the framing and the racism that was going on. White America did not see racism, because they rarely understand it because they are perpetuating it. African-Americans know what it looks like and how it feels. If White America were so outraged because of the murders, why were they NOT outraged when a white woman killed a black man the same week. They both were famous Gladiators. What happened in that trial? I don’t know. Do you? Was the white woman aquitted or found guilty? Why wasn’t that case made into a media circus? Why wasn’t that white woman put on public display? That man was a human being. Where is that outrage? However, America did save itself when it elected Barack Obama president. This is the first time that race mattered and didn’t matter at the same time. Steph, the book If I did it was not even OJ Simpson’s idea & it’s a hypthoetical. I do not believe OJ Simpson did it. I believe that it was done by the Mob a/k/a Underworld with Ron Goldman being the intended target & Nicole Brown Simpson losing her life trying to stop the killers. This double murder was done by the Mexican or Colombian mob.

If this is true, then why the need for Fred Goldman to keep saying this on different media outlets through the years? I believe Fred Goldman is hiding his own guilt over his son’s death. I know that people will lecture otherwise, but Fred Goldman knows what his son was involved with & what got him killed. How can you rule out the possiblity of Ron Goldman being the intended victim when there are no eyewitnesses to this crime & thus only the killers know why they did it?

J. look outside the box here. This has nothing to do about money. It is hurting OJ in the only way they can - in the pocket and his “image”. How else does one deal with someone described as a psychopath? Furthermore, if you lost your child due to a drunk driver you surely would want compenstion for pain, suffering and loss of enjoyment of your child and your future grandchildren. The criminal court failed to bring justice in this case and OJ walks around living and breathing. Surely the Goldmans are entitled to get justice through depriving OJ of enjoyment of life in some way. Murder is a crime against society - against you J! What the Goldmans are doing is a favor to all of us who may find ourselves in the same position. You say leave justice up to God, but remember God helps those who help themselves.
