Teacher Claims He Molested 200 Students
A 28-year-old California elementary school teacher has been charged with molesting a 10-year-old girl, but police and school officials have begun a search for victims they fear could climb into the hundreds. The Ontario, California teacher told investigators that he molested between 100 and 200 students in 13 schools since he became a teacher three years ago.
Eric Norman Olsen (pictured) he has taught in different school districts throughout San Bernardino, Riverside and Kern counties. An investigation into his activities began June 13 after a 13-year-old male student reported seeing Olsen molest the 10-year-old girl.
He was arrested Friday and charged with lewd and lascivious acts involving the 10-year-old.
"I think you are going to find that there are going to be a lot more victims," Jason Anderson, a deputy San Bernardino County district attorney, told The Press-Enterprise. "It would be a shame to have to let this many acts go unpunished." But some officials doubt Olsen's claim. "That's very unlikely, that he would have victimized 50 people in our city and they wouldn't have reported it," said Fontana police Sgt. David Maxson.
Investigators are requesting the public's help in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Ontario police at 909-395-2764.
