'Millionaire Swinger' Darren Mack Still at Large
The FBI has added Darren Roy Mack, wanted in the investigation of the murder of his estranged wife and the June 13 shooting of a family court judge in Reno, to its Most Wanted List.
A federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court for the District of Nevada after Mack was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, making him eligible for the FBI's most wanted list and a nationwide manhunt.
Investigators believe that Mack (pictured) carefully planned both murders and his getaway. Described as a "millionaire swinger" in a Court TV report, Mack may have had the resources and ability to leave the country undetected.
Court TV's Seamus McGraw reported that although Mack's attack on his wife and two hours later the sniper shooting of Judge Chuck Waller in his third-floor office seemed well planned, some of his actions seemed careless. Mack made no effort to cover-up his wife's murder and left behind in his apartment ammunition and a receipt for the rifle he apparently purchased just before the judge was shot. Although he paid cash to rent a vehicle in California, he used his business card for identification to rent it, McGraw reported.
Other observers noted that Mack's renting of the vehicle may have been a ruse to throw authorities off his track. The fact remains, 11 days after his wife was found dead in the garage of her home, Mack has not been apprehended.
