Girl Missing 10 Years Found in South Carolina
A 12-year-old girl who was kidnapped from outside her Tempe, Arizona home in 1996 by her father has been found in a small South Carolina town and will be returned to her mother, authorities said.
Danny Arthur Moran (pictured), 57, has been arrested on kidnapping charges in Roanoke, Virginia, where he was living under a false identity. After his arrest, the 12-year-old was located at a home in Donalds, South Carolina which is owned jointly by Moran and his girlfriend, Lillian Jean Pitts.
The girl was placed into protective custody in South Carolina and Pitts was also arrested and charged with kidnapping.
"By the time I got off the phone and went back outside, I didn't see her and I knew he took her," the girl's mother, Helen Braun told WYFF News 4 about the day her daughter disappeared. "I need to get away and get down there and get my daughter!"
