Jackson Accuser's Mom to Face Fraud Trial
The mother of the teenage boy who accused Michael Jackson of molestation at the singer's Neverland Ranch was ordered to stand trial on felony charges of defrauding $8,000 from the government welfare system.
Janet Arvizo, 37, was released without bail after she waived her right to a preliminary hearing in Los Angeles. On June 21, she will be officially arraigned on one count of welfare fraud and four counts of perjury by falsely applying for welfare.
During Jackson's trial last year Arvizo invoked Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination on the welfare fraud issue and refused to testify about it. She was charged with welfare fraud shortly after the trial ended.
