Former Teacher Pamela Rogers Jailed Again

Thursday April 27, 2006
Two weeks after she was arrested and threatened with violating her seven years' probation for having sex with a 13-year-old student, former Tennessee teacher Pamela Rogers has been arrested and jailed for sending the teen nude photos of herself.

Rogers, 28, was released on bond April 13 after she was arrested for sending messages to the teenage victim on her MySpace.com Web site. At the time, prosecutor Dale Potter said he would seek to revoke her probation at a hearing set for July.

When Rogers was arrested again this week for contacting the teen, a judge ordered her jailed until the July hearing. According to court papers filed Monday, since her April 13 arrest Rogers sent the boy emails, text messages, sexually explicit videos, and photos of herself "involved in sexual activity" while she was nude.

The court complaint said that she called the teen on his cellphone just hours after her last court appearance.

Meanwhile, Roger's attorney raised questions about his client's mental competency. "If they're able to prove this, it would show an incredible lack of judgment," attorney Peter Strianse told the Southern Standard.
