Phil Spector's Trial Delayed Until September
The trial of legendary rock music producer Phil Spector for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles home has been postponed until September after both prosecutors and defense attorneys told the judge they would be busy with other trials in April, the original trial date.
Spector, 66, is charged with the shooting death of B-movie actress Clarkson (pictured) who was found dead in the foyer of his mansion on Feb. 3, 2003. Spector has entered a plea of not guilty and is free on $1 million bond.
Spector's defense attorneys are involved in a federal case in New York in April and prosecutors Alan Jackson and Patrick Dixon are scheduled to try Michael Goodwin for the 1988 murder of auto racer Mickey Thompson and his wife in May.
Clarkson was working as a hostess at the Los Angeles House of Blues club when she went home with Spector in his limousine on the night of her death. Clarkson appeared in such B-movies as "Barbarian Queen", "Vice Girls", and "Amazon Women on the Moon," but she also appeared in "Blind Date", "Scarface" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." She appeared also in televisions shows "Silk Stalkings" and "Night Court."
