Parents Arrested in Baby's Beating Death
Texas authorities have tracked a couple and arrested them in Michigan after an autopsy revealed that their two-month-old baby, who died while they were living in an apartment complex in Texas, had major head trauma, a fractured skull and rib fractures.
On March 10, Cipriano and Ester Gonzales called 9-1-1 and reported their infant was unresponsive. When an autopsy revealed the extent of the baby's injuries, the couple had moved to Holland, Michigan.
San Marcos detectives and local Holland police arrested the couple. They have been charged with capital murder of a person under six years old.
"The process is continuing for us to complete our investigation, and then present to a grand jury here in Hays County, for an indictment," San Marcos Police Sergeant Penny Dunn told WOAI television.
