New Book Profiles Killer James Whitey Bulger
A new book by a Boston journalist, who has been covering organized crime for 25 years, profiles the criminal career of a notorious gangster hitman who is No. 2 on the FBI's most wanted list and has been a fugitive since 1994.
Howie Carr, a journalist who has covered White Bulger and Boston politics for Boston area newspapers and radio stations, has now written "The Brothers Bulge" about James (Whitey) Bulger and his brother, William Bulger, former president of the Massachusetts State Senate.
Whitey Bulger (pictured) disappeared in December 1994 after he was indicted for 19 murders. There is a $1 million reward for the convicted bank robber and former government informant.
Although Bulger sightings have been reported in Canada, Europe, South America and Thailand, Carr believes Bulger is living in England on millions that he stashed away in safety deposit boxes during his life of crime.
