EquuSearch Team to Return to Aruba
EquuSearch founder Tim Miller says he and a team of divers from Florida will return to Aruba to follow up on information they received from investigators in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway that she may be in a fish trap five miles off shore in 800 feet of water.
Miller told a Houston television reporter that Aruba's police commissioner told him that Natalee might be inside a large fish trap that was stolen the night she disappeared in June 2004.
"The night she disappeared is the same night a fisherman's hut got broken into and a huge fish trap got stolen. Some big knives got stolen, and none of it has been found since," Miller said.
Miller believes the fish trap is three to five miles off the coast of Aruba in water that is 800 to 1,000 feet deep. Miller says his specialized equipment should be able to locate the large fish trap, if it is there.
"Our whole goal is none other than to bring Natalee Holloway home," Miller said. "It's too early to just say it's over with. There are still some things to do."
Mississippi Shuns Boycott Effort
Meanwhile, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says he will not join other governors in calling for a boycott of Aruba to protest the way the Holloway investigation has been handled.
"When it comes to boycotting, I am more accustomed to Mississippi being on the receiving end of people boycotting us because they don't like this or that," Barbour said. "I am not favorably disposed toward that device."
The governors of Alabama, Arkansas and Georgia have joined the boycott effort at the request of Natalee's family, which has grown critical of the lack of progress and results in the investigation.
