Four Shot in Home Rap Studio

Wednesday December 14, 2005
For men, two white and two black, were shot to death in a rap music studio located the in basement of a home in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, a section not known by police as a trouble area.

Three of the victims died at the scene and another died later at a hospital. All of the victims were in their teens or early 20s, police said.

A sister of one of the victims said the victims were waiting for other members of their rap group to arrive when the shootings took place. Police have established no motive for the shootings.

Police Superintendent Bobbie Johnson said witnesses reported seeing a heavy set man fleeing the scene after the Tuesday night shootings.

"It's much too early to speculate on a motive in this incident," Police Commissioner Kathleen O'Toole said. "But generally speaking, homicides occurring inside residences are seldom random acts of violence."
