Wife of Attorney Daniel Horowitz Found Dead
Police said Daniel Horowitz, who appears as a regular legal commentator on CNN, MSNBC and For News, called 911 shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday and reported that the body of his wife was found in the entry way of their Contra Costa home.
Contra Costa Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee released few details about the crime except to say it was a "definite homicide." "We're still in the early stages. We're talking to several individuals. Nobody's in custody right now," Lee said.
High-Profile Trial Underway
When contacted via cell phone by a Bay Area newspaper, Horowitz said, "I can't talk, I can't. It's beyond words."
Horowitz, who was a frequent commentator during the Scott Peterson trial, is currently involved in a high-profile trial, representing Susan Polk, charged with the 2002 murder of her husband. Her trial was scheduled to continue next week. Pamela Vitale, 52, worked in Horowitz's law firm maintaining databases.
