Natalee Holloway's Family Hires Attorney, Search Team

Tuesday June 21, 2005
The family of Natalee Holloway hired an attorney to file a lawsuit demanding that Aruban authorities turn over all evidence they have gathered in the investigation of the missing teen and hired a Texas-based team to search the Caribbean island.

"I want to see the police record from May 30th," said Natalee's mother, Beth Twitty, who believes the three young men who gave Natalee a ride from a nightclub May 30 hold the key to the investigation.

She said the family has hired an Aruban lawyer and was preparing a lawsuit demanding access to all information and potential evidence that police and prosecutors have gathered.

The family also hired the Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team from Dickinson, Texas to aid in the search for Natalee. "They are going to help us search for Natalee in ways we couldn't before," said Paul Reynolds, Natalee's uncle.

The volunteer search team was reportedly transporting three cadaver dogs and special sonar equipment to the island to help in the search.

Suspects Still Detained

Meanwhile, a judge ruled that authorities have enough suspicion to hold a fourth suspect in the case another week. Steve Gregory Croes, a DJ that works on a party boat on the island, was detained and questioned last week in the case.

Earlier the judge ordered Joran Van Der Sloot, 17, Deepak Kalpoe, 21, and Satish Kalpoe, 18, detained for another eight days. Authorities have questioned the father of Van Der Sloot extensively also.

As the search for the missing honors students entered the fourth week, no one has been charged in the case and no evidence has been released by Aruban authorities that even indicates a crime as been committed.
