Teen Scalped, Suspect Surrenders

Thursday February 10, 2005
An 26-year-old woman accused of scalping a 16-year-old girl, who was a member of the same punk clique, has surrendered to Idaho authorities on felony charges of aggravated battery.

Marianne Dahle is accused of using a four-inch knife to cut a six-by-eight inch section of scalp off a teen friend who wore a Mohawk style haircut. Police said the motive was the teen being disrespectful to women, which is against the rules of the group.

"I view this as a case where an adult female is using predatory control, both psychological and sexual, toward juvenile victims. There are definitely sexual overtones to this crime," said Boise County Chief Deputy Bill Braddock.

The victim received several skin grafts after doctors were not able to re-attach her scalp. Police said Dahle drove the victim to the hospital after the incident.
