Attorneys for accused abortion clinic bomber Eric Rudolph used the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms' own internal audit report of deficiencies to attack the evidence against their client, according to court records. The defense plans to use the audit at trial to impeach the reliability of ATF lab work linking Rudolph to the Birmingham, Alabama bombing.
