Bonny Lee Bakley's Daughter Testifies Against Blake
Holly Gawron, 24, told the jury about her mother's stormy relationship with Blake and said when she was living in Arkansas with Bakely, she would answer the telephone and Blake would begin "yelling, cursing obscenities" because he thought it was Bakley answering the phone.
Gawron also testified that she and her brother sold cocaine they found in a fishing tackle box in her mother's car. This testimony was presented to back up the prosecution's claim that Blake wanted to plant cocaine on Bakley in order to get her probation revoked.
Earlier this week, retired stuntman Roy (Snuffy) Harrison testified that Blake never asked him to do anything illegal but asked him to put him in touch with stuntmen Gary McLarty and Ronald Hambleton. The two are expected to testify next week that Blake tried to solicit them to kidnap or kill Bakley.
Also this week, the girlfriend of Blake's former handyman, Earle Caldwell, told the jury that Caldwell left town before Bakley's murder and asked her to get his possessions out of his apartment before police could seize them. Caldwell was originally charged with conspiracy in connection with Bakley's murder, but the charges were dropped after a preliminary hearing.
Caldwell has indicated that if he is called as a witness in the Blake murder trial that he will refuse to answer under his Fifth Amendment rights.
