Peterson Witnesses Say Jury Made a Mistake

Tuesday December 7, 2004
As a long line of witnesses continued to testify on behalf of Scott Peterson, some of them told the jury they did not believe Peterson committed the crime and the verdict was a mistake. With a day and a half of more defense witnesses scheduled to testify in the penalty phase of the murder trial, courtroom observers said jurors appear to be unaffected by the pleas to save Peterson from the death penalty. Fox News reported that after court ended today, Peterson broke down crying and seemed to be pleading with his attorney, Mark Geragos. No further details were available.
