Bank Robber Writes Note On His Own Check

Thursday November 25, 2004
Stupid Criminals File: Gerald F. Rohrer, Jr. has been sentenced to Indiana prison for robbing a bank by handing a teller a note demanding money which was written on one of his own checks, and other crimes. Authorities said Rohrer, a crack addict, also robbed another bank with a note written with handwriting so bad he had to read it to the teller.

Charles, As difficult as is to believe, this is not a unique occurance. It was about 1984 when a local bank (Columbus, ohio) was robbed by a woman with a note….printed on the back of a deposit slip. I turned the note over and there was a name, address and phone number. I said to myself it CAN’T be this easy. It was. We actually beat her home and when she saw us she immediately disassembled and “fessed up” to the whole thing. Not only do weird things happen, they often happen more than once.
