Peterson Jurors End Week With No Verdict

Friday November 5, 2004
Jurors in the Scott Peterson double-murder trial ended their third day of deliberations Friday and will not continue until they return to court Monday from the hotel where they are sequestered.

The jury asked to see photographs taken inside the Peterson's home and Scott Peterson's warehouse during their discussions Friday. Later, they sent a note to Judge Alfred Delucchi requesting to see the 14-foot aluminum boat Peterson used to go fishing Dec. 24, 2002, according to Court TV.

The jury inspected the boat at the courthouse during the prosecution's case in July. The boat will be returned to the courthouse Monday.

The jury deliberated for almost 19 hours. They will spend the weekend sequestered at a hotel, and are not permitted to discuss the case until they return to the jury room Monday.

When the jury went into the long weekend without reaching a verdict lead to speculation by some court observers that they may be deadlocked. Others speculated that they were just being thorough, reviewing five months of evidence before making a decision.
