No Rebuttal from Prosecution in Peterson Case

Wednesday October 27, 2004
The prosecution had planned to call eight rebuttal witnesses after Scott Peterson's defense rested its case Tuesday, but instead the judge read four statements into the record on which both side had agreed.

"You'll be glad to know the attorneys got together and stipulated to all testimony this afternoon," Judge Alfred A. Delucchi told jurors Wednesday afternoon. He ordered the jurors to return Monday for closing arguments.

The judge then read four statements into the record dealing with testimony about concrete work at a neighbor's of the Peterson, an email recovered from the Peterson's computer, a store receipt, and a printout concerning San Francisco Bay from Scott Peterson's computer.

The prosecution has requested an entire day for its closing statement. Defense attorney Mark Geragos has asked for half a day. The case is expected to go to the jury Nov. 3.
