Jury Selection Nears End in Derrick Todd Lee Case

Wednesday September 29, 2004
After almost two weeks, jury selection in the trial of Derrick Todd Lee may be coming to a close as 12 regular jurors have been seated in the trial for the murder of Charlotte Murray Pace. Four alternates still need to be selected.

Attorneys questioned 120 prospective jurors during the process out of a 400-person pool. Lee is charged with beating and stabbing Pace, 22, in Baton Rouge. He has been charged with a series of murders in Louisiana.

Lee was convicted of second-degree murder in the beating and stabbing death of Geralyn DeSoto in West Baton Rouge. He received a life sentence for that conviction.
