Phil Spector May Face Grand Jury Indictment
Attorney Roger Rosen told reporters he knows of no other reason why Spector would be called to court in the case of the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson at Spector's home Feb. 3, 2003, but he added, he has not been told definitely about an indictment.
A Grand Jury indictment would eliminate the need for a preliminary hearing in the case, since prosecutors would have already presented enough evidence to hold Spector over for trial.
Rosen said if that is the case, Spector would be very disappointed. "He was very much looking forward to the preliminary hearing and getting the information out to the public," Rosen said. "If that had happened, I think there was a very decent chance that this case would have been dismissed."
