No Blood Evidence in Scott Peterson Case

Tuesday September 14, 2004
A California Department of Justice criminalist testified in Scott Peterson's double-murder trail that the only blood investigators founds in the Peterson's home or in Scott's pickup truck and boat belonged to Scott Peterson.

Criminalist Pin Kyo testified that no blood was found on tow mops and a bucket seized from Peterson's home and none was found on a blue tarp or on Peterson's boat cover. The prosecution's theory is that Scott Peterson used the mops to clean the murder scene after killing his wife Laci, but so far have presented no evidence to back up that claim.

The only blood police found anywhere were tiny spots of blood on a bed comforter that turned out to be Scott's, reports said.

Earlier, jurors heard technical testimony regarding the global positioning device used by police to track Scott Peterson after Laci disappeared. Prosecution witnesses admitted the technology had some glitches and was "not intended to be terribly accurate."

In other news, court officials are considering changing the seating arrangements in the courtroom for members of Laci's family and Scott's family after some heated exchanges between to two groups recently. Last week, Scott and Laci's fathers got into a verbal altercation in a courthouse hallway. Laci's brother, Brent Rocha, and Lee Peterson had a heated hallway discussion also.
