Police Release Another BTK Strangler Poem
"This poem appears to be an original writing, as an extensive search has not found this to be a known, published work," Lt. Ken Landwehr, head of the Wichita police homicide division, said in a statement.
Wichita police have received more than 4,000 tips since March, when news letters from the BTK Strangler were received by the news media, after he disappeared in 1979 following a series of murders the bragged to the press about committing.
In 1979, the BTK Strangler send a copy of the 19-line poem to Anna Williams, along with an article of her clothing and a piece of jewelry from her home. He also sent a copy to KAKE-TV. Police last contacted Mrs. Williams in 1984, but she has since died of natural causes.
